Dr. Jerry Whitman is a Board Certified pediatrician who was born and raised in Chicago. After graduating from the University of Illinois Medical School and doing an internship focused on psychiatry and pediatrics he moved to Los Angeles to do a pediatric residency at Cedars Sinai. After an extra year of training where he was both the Chief Resident in Pediatrics and did a fellowship in infectious diseases, Dr. Whitman started in private practice.
Over the years he has been Clinical Chief of Pediatrics, on the Medical Executive Committee and an officer on the medical staff, chair of the Peer Review Executive Committee, founding medical director of the Child Abuse Committee and a founding Board member and officer of Cedars Sinai Health Associates. In 2011 he was honored with his induction into the Benjamin Kagan Society in recognition of his many outstanding contributions to the Pediatric Department and his quality of caring for the health and wellbeing of children.
Dr. Whitman is happily married. He and his wife have 3 children, all recently married. They have 3 grandchildren, 2 who live locally and one who lives in Brooklyn. Dr. Whitman and his wife are avid travelers, having vacationed to 6 continents and they are looking forward to someday going to Antarctica, the 7th continent.
